Responsible Gaming
Five controls sit on a WINRM account: what each one reaches, how long it can run for, and who is able to undo it afterwards.
Each control, and what it reaches
Lowering any of these applies the moment it is saved.
| Control | Where it applies | Longest setting | Undone by |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deposit cap | At the cashier, before money is taken | Per week | A day's wait, then you |
| Loss cap | At the game, mid-round if needed | Per week | A day's wait, then you |
| Session clock | At login, counting from sign-in | Per session | You, at any time |
| Cooling off | The whole account, every product | Six weeks | Nothing, it expires on its own |
| Self-exclusion | The whole account, every product | Indefinite | Nothing, not even support |

A limit works because it is not up to you later
Deciding in advance how much an evening is worth is easy. Holding to that decision three hours in, after a run has gone badly, is a different task entirely, and willpower is the wrong tool for it. A limit works precisely because it removes the decision from the moment you are least able to make it well.
That is also why the controls here are enforced by the cashier and the games rather than shown as a reminder. A reminder can be dismissed by the same person who set it, which makes it a note rather than a limit.
What the history shows that memory does not
Recollection of a month's play is close to useless, because the wins are vivid and the quiet losing evenings blur together. The account history is not, since it holds every stake, every result and every deposit with a timestamp on it.
Two patterns are worth looking for in it. One is stake size rising across a losing run rather than staying flat. The other is deposits clustering late at night rather than spreading across the week. Neither is a diagnosis, but both are easier to see on a screen than to remember, and either is a good reason to set a ceiling before the next session.
Stepping away, and who answers if you need more
A cooling-off closes access for anything from a day to six weeks and then reopens on its own. Self-exclusion starts at six months and, unlike every other control, cannot be lifted from inside the account or by staff once it is confirmed.
If the account has started to feel like an obligation rather than something you chose, that is reason enough to use one without waiting for a worse week. The Malaysian Mental Health Association answers calls on this without charge, and live chat on our contact page can start a break running inside the same conversation.
